On the third day of her official visit in Lithuania Queen Beatrix landed in Kaunas Airport where she was met by the officials of Kaunas government.

In the city Her Majesty visited the City hall, listened to the flute quartet, besides the Queen visited the Sugihara house - the building, where Japanese diplomat Chuine Sugihara and Netherlands consul Jan Zwartendijk resided, who gave transit visas to thousands of Jews during the World War II, thus rescuing them from inevitable death.

After visiting the new passenger terminal of Kaunas Airport, Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus and the first lady waved the Queen goodbye as her plane left for Amsterdam
