Kaunas Airport announces the beginning of summer season
Kaunas Airport (KUN) will try to justify the name of the holiday’s airport this summer again. The new season schedule foresees 19 destinations, 8 of them - perfect destinations for holidays. Summer season at Kaunas Airport will start on March 31. During the season 56 flights a week are foreseen in the schedule. They will be operated by two airlines - Ryanair and airBaltic.
Some of the tourists’ favourite summer destinations return to the summer flight schedule. Moreover, two absolutely new destinations - to the Italian resort of Trapani in Sicily and Cagliari in Sardinia are added to the list. At the beginning of the summer season the frequency of popular flights to Dublin, Bristol, Frankfurt and Riga will be increased and flights to London Gatwick Airport and Oslo will be restored as well.
“This year we will seek to justify the name of the holiday’s airport again. Travellers from Lithuania and the neighbouring countries will be able to enjoy a great variety of shiny destinations from Kaunas Airport as the year before. Every year we observe a growing flow of tourists from Oslo, Tampere and Stockholm who choose Lithuania for their holidays. So we are glad that not only business trips, but also memorable vacations for the majority of travellers start at the Kaunas Airport” said Jurate Baltrusaityte, the Kaunas Airport CEO at interim.
The summer season route network also includes flights to Cyprus, Malta, Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, Cagliari, Trapani, Kos, Rhodes, Dublin, London (Stansted, Gatwick), Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Oslo, Stockholm, Tampere, Frankfurt and Riga.
