Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, today (30th January) launched its Kaunas summer 2013 schedule, including 3 new routes (18 in total) to Cagliari, Oslo and Trapani from April, which will help deliver over 600,000 passengers p.a. and support over 600* “on-site” jobs at Kaunas Airport.

Ryanair’s Kaunas summer 2013 schedule will offer:
• 18 routes
• 3 new routes to Cagliari, Oslo & Trapani
• 94 weekly flights
• 600,000 pax p.a.
• 600* jobs at Kaunas Airport

Ryanair has also opened a €1.5m maintenance hangar at Kaunas Airport which will sustain 40 new engineering jobs and represents the first phase of Ryanair’s new ‘C-Check’ maintenance operations at Kaunas Airport.

To celebrate its 3 new Kaunas summer 2013 routes and the new hangar, Ryanair is launching a 100,000 seat sale with fares starting from just 52 LTL for travel across Europe in February and March. These seats must be booked on www.ryanair.com before midnight (24:00hrs) Monday (4th February).

In Kaunas today, Michael O`Leary said:

“Ryanair is pleased to today announce our Kaunas summer 2013 schedule with 3 new routes to/from Cagliari, Oslo and Trapani, which will help deliver over 600,000 pax p.a. and sustain over 600* “on-site” jobs at Kaunas Airport, underlining Ryanair’s commitment to tourism in Lithuania.

Ryanair’s first ‘C-Check’ maintenance hangar at Kaunas will create 40 new engineering jobs, in addition to over 600* local jobs which have already been created and sustained in Kaunas as a direct result of Ryanair’s base and the 600,000 passengers we will carry to/from Kaunas this year.

To celebrate our 3 new Kaunas routes and our new maintenance hangar, Ryanair is releasing 100,000 seats at fares starting from just 52 LTL for travel across Europe in February and March. Since seats at these crazy low prices will be snapped up quickly, we urge passengers to book them immediately on www.ryanair.com.”

* ACI research confirms up to 1,000 ‘on-site’ jobs are sustained at international airports for every 1m passengers
