On 29 March, services of testing for COVID-19 were launched at Kaunas Airport. Back in early March, such services have been introduced to travellers near Vilnius Airport, and today the first tests were performed for those travelling through Kaunas Airport. Paid testing services are provided by company Rezus.lt.

In Kaunas, recommendations remain analogous to those that apply at Vilnius Airport - in order for the test to be performed at the airport, travellers should register on the website www.rezus.lt before arrival or departure (registration is also possible by the specified phone number), to be present at the test point at least 5 minutes before the scheduled visit time, and have an identity document on hand.

At Kaunas Airport, mobile testing facilities are located right next to the passenger terminal, in the clearly marked and visible place.

“We know that, during the summer season, safe travel by air will be even more active, and passenger traffic will gradually increase. Therefore, we want to ensure better conditions for travellers to undergo test for COVID-19. From 1 April, we will no longer charge a fee for issuing a test certificate, and will also unify prices throughout Lithuania so that travellers could leave their sample at any treatment room of our laboratory and simply pick up an approved certificate next to the airport if the country requires the original document. Until this autumn, sampling for PCR test and issuance of answer with a certificate will cost 75 euros“, - says Daiva Kazlauskienė, the Director of Rezus.lt and Lithuania's diagnostics and treatment providers' association.

Lithuanian Airports remind that, as result of procedures for verification of additional documents and medical certificates before flight, processes at airports can take longer than before the pandemic. Lithuanian Airports remind that, as result of procedures for verification of additional documents and medical certificates before flight, processes at airports can take longer than before the pandemic. Passengers are asked to estimate how much time they will need for test and for obtaining result thereof, and, accordingly, add the planned duration of the test to usual recommendations regarding the arrival time. It is recommended to arrive at the airport more than 2 hours before the flight.

All passengers are also recommended to find out the latest requirements of the countries for arriving travellers. They are advised to check sources of information of the other country's official authorities, and, if necessary, to talk with the representatives of the airline from which the passenger purchased the flight ticket.
