From autumn, three new direct flights will be launched from Kaunas Airport. From 31 October, the gateway will offer routes to the Spanish port city of Malaga and the Finnish capital Helsinki, and from 1 November to Manchester in the United Kingdom.

Aurimas Stikliūnas, the Head of Aviation Services at Lithuanian Airports, says that the growth in the number of new direct flights is a long-term strategic goal, which will undoubtedly improve the accessibility of Kaunas region.

"Taking into account the needs of passengers, we communicate with airlines and try to constantly increase the number of flights on offer. As you know, Helsinki International Airport is key to improving the accessibility of Lithuania as a whole, as well as increasing inbound tourism from the Scandinavian region. Helsinki has become the third capital city in the Scandinavian region, alongside Copenhagen and Stockholm Arlanda airports, to be served by flights from Kaunas Airport. Meanwhile, Malaga is a southern European resort with a high level of interest among travellers. We have no doubt that this Spanish port city will become a popular holiday destination in winter. Manchester is a popular destination for Lithuanians working abroad, and from autumn it will be possible to reach it from Kaunas Airport," says the Head of Aviation Services of Lithuanian Airports.

The routes will be offered by Ryanair. According to current data, flights to Malaga will be operated twice a week from 31 October, on Thursdays and Sundays. One-way ticket prices start from €45.99.

Flights to Helsinki start the same day. They will take place on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with ticket prices starting from €17.59.

From 1 November, Kaunas Airport will offer twice a week flights to Manchester on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Ticket prices start from €19.99 per person. Passengers can find the latest flight schedules and purchase tickets on Ryanair’s official website.
