The aircraft painting company MAAS Aviation, registered in Ireland, will soon start operating at Kaunas Airport. The new 7,000-square-meter hangars will be capable of painting two aircrafts at a time, and the company's future plans include the construction of an additional facility.

"The coronavirus pandemic has reduced the number of flights, but we feel strong and want to further strengthen our position in the market. We already have 85 percent of orders for next year", - said Tim Macdougald, CEO of MAAS Aviation.

According to the CEO, the painting process takes place indoors, so no harmful substances and odours enter the environment. The company pays a lot of attention to modern technologies, ventilation equipment, and fire safety.

Representatives of the company state that one of the biggest advantages of Kaunas Airport is its good geographical location and other aircraft service companies already operating at the airport: Ryanair, FL Technics, DOT, AviaBaltika, OS Technics.

When naming advantages of Kaunas Airport, T. Macdougald emphasized that "it will be possible to fully service an aircraft in one location and the aircraft will not require additional transportation".

The new aircraft paint shop is scheduled to create between 50 and 80 workplaces.

MAAS Aviation has been operating in the market for 37 years and has bases not only in Europe but also in the United States. It repaints an average of 300 aircrafts per year. It is the second such company in the world in terms of capacity.
