2. What documents are needed for travelling  children?
Ryanair does not carry unaccompanied minors (under 16 years). Escort and special facilities are NOT available. Unaccompanied minors (over 16 years) travelling alone must provide a written permission (only for travels to non Schengen countries, according to Lithuanian legislation), signed by the parent(s) or legal guardian which must be co-signed by a solicitor confirming that they consent to the child travelling without them. Important! Be aware, that child’s birth certificate is not a photo ID. To avoid misunderstandings please contact State Border Guard Service in Kaunas Airport: +370 37 399 319.

3. Can I travel with personal identity card?
All countries, including Ireland (Dublin), accept personal identity cards. For more information about Ryanair rules on travelling with personal identity card please check their website.

4. What should I know about checked baggage?

General rules:
Any passenger exceeding their personal checked baggage allowance will be charged for the excess weight at the applicable rate per kilo.  No pooling or sharing of baggage allowances is permitted, even within a party travelling on the same reservation. Up to 4 hours prior to your scheduled departure you can contact your local Ryanair reservations centre to add flight change fees (route/date/time), name change fees, infant fees, baggage fees, priority boarding fees, sports, infant equipment and musical instrument fee, this is subject to call centre opening hours.

5. What should I know about cabin baggage?
Each passenger (excluding infants) is permitted to carry one piece of cabin baggage on board (free of charge). Strictly one item of cabin baggage is permitted per passenger (excluding infants). Handbag, briefcase, laptops, duty free etc must be carried within your permitted 1 piece of cabin baggage. It should weigh no more than 10kg and not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.
Infants do not qualify for a cabin baggage allowance (although a pram/buggy will be carried free of charge).
EU/EEA cabin baggage security restrictions require that passenger cabin baggage containing any liquids, gels, pastes, lotions or liquid cosmetics MUST be presented at the airport passenger security point in a transparent re-sealable bag of no more than one litre capacity (e.g. 20cm x 20cm zip lock freezer bag). 6. Do I have to declare cash of a value exceeding EUR 10 000 brought into and out of Ireland, United Kingdom, Germany?
As of June 15, 2007, travellers entering or leaving the Community customs territory and carrying cash of a value of EUR 10 000 or more are obliged to declare that sum at the border customs posts on the Cash declaration form.
The mentioned declaration form in Lithuanian, English or Russian as well as the procedure for its completion and customs clearance has been approved by Order No 1B-891 of 29 December 2006 of the Director General of the Customs Department. This Order complies with the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 1889/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2005 on controls of cash entering or leaving the Community.

7. How much alcohol and cigarettes can I carry with me?
Travelling in Europe Union there are no restrictions for things of carriage, as longs as those things are for personal usage. Each country can estimate different quantity of tobacco products or alcohol beverages for personal usage. In this case, if you are caring more, you may be asked to show documents, to prove that you products are for personal use. 8. When does the check-in start and is closed?
On Ryanair flights check-in is opened 2 hours before the scheduled departure and closes strictly at 40 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time. This is done to ensure that flights depart on schedule.

9. Can I bring musical instruments?
Large musical equipment including but not limited to harps, double bass and drums may be carried in the hold of the aircraft in addition to your personal checked baggage allowance upon payment of an additional discounted fee per item, per one way flight. Smaller musical items such as a guitar, cello, violin or viola which exceed our cabin baggage dimensions may be carried in the cabin if a seat for it has been reserved and the appropriate fare paid. There is no checked baggage allowance associated with the purchase of an extra seat. 10. Can I bring sports equipment?
Sporting equipment may be carried in the hold of the aircraft in addition to your personal checked baggage allowance upon payment of an additional discounted fee per item, per one way flight if booked online. If the item is not booked until arrival at the airport or through a Ryanair call centre the full fee will apply.
Due to space restrictions, we recommend that all sports equipment is pre-booked online or through your local reservation centre, as not to do so may result in the item being refused carriage at the airport. Special advice for the carriage of bicycles: the pedals must be removed (or fixed inwards) and the handlebars must be fixed sideways. The bike should be contained in a protective box or bag.

11. Is there a long – term car parking available in Kaunas Airport?
Yes and you can see it here. 24 hours in long – term car parking cost 15 LTL.

12. Do I have to make a reservation for long – term car parking in Kaunas Airport?
No, you do not have to do that.

13. Where and how can I pay for car parking in Kaunas Airport?
For car parking you can pay in auto-pay stations, which are located in car parking areas P1 and P2.
The auto pay station accepts coins of 1, 2, 5 litas and 50 cents and notes of 10, 20, 50 litas. You will get the change in coins only.
Please insert the ticket into the ticket terminal and follow the instructions by the green arrow and messages in the display.
Please pay at the Information centre in passenger terminal, if:
  - You do not have the above mentioned coins for payment.
  - A message “OUT OF ORDER” appears on the screen.
  - The auto pay station does not have change, a message “PAY EXACTLY” appears and you do not have exact amount.
Once you have paid, the ticket is returned to you, you may leave.
If you make a mistake, please push the button “CANCEL” and payment will be cancelled, you can try again. Please call the cashier by intercom by pushing the “HELP” button if you have some problems or go straight to the Information centre in passenger terminal.
Remember, that you must pay for car parking before leaving, so make sure not to lose your parking ticket, because in this case you will be fined 100 LTL. If you lose long term parking ticked, you will be fined 300 LTL.

14. Is it possible to get an invoice for car parking in Kaunas Airport?
Yes. If you need to get an invoice for car parking, please go to the Information centre in passenger terminal.

15. What should I do if I have lost car parking ticket?
If you have lost your car parking ticked, you should go to the Information centre in passenger terminal and pay your fine (see question no. 13).

16. What items are forbidden in aircraft cabin?
Dangerous items, forbidden to carry on board are: guns, firearms and weapons, pointed edged weapons and sharp objects, blunt instruments, explosives and flammable substances, chemical and toxic substances, liquids and other. You can see the detailed list here.
Be aware, that aviation security officer has a right to forbid taking on board or carry in hold baggage any item or material, which seems suspicious.

17. I was buying a ticket on-line and I didn’t get confirmation code. What should I do?

18. Can I travel with my pet animal?
Unfortunately Ryanair does not accept pet animals on any route. However, guide dogs are carried on certain flights. For details please click here. 19. Can I change currency in Kaunas Airport?
There is a bank office in passenger terminal, where you can exchange currency or cash your money. Working hours are fitted to flight schedule.

You can go by public transport (city bus no. 29, mini bus no. 120) or taxi. Public transport timetable is fitted to flight schedule as much as it is possible.

Every day Kaunas Airport Express is running between Vilnius and Kaunas Airport. You can buy tickets online at www.airport-express.lt.

25. How to get to Klaipeda from Kaunas Airport?
Every day Kaunas Airport Express is running between Klaipeda and Kaunas Airport. You can buy tickets online at www.airport-express.lt.

26. Is there a cash machine at Kaunas Airport?
Yes, there are Nordea and Snoras cash machines at the Airport.

27.  How can I check-in for a flight with Ryanair?
From October 1st, 2009 all persons (including people travelling with babies under 2 years) must check-in online. Persons aged under 16 and travelling alone are not allowed to check-in online.

If you are travelling with your hand baggage only, we would recommend you to choose option ‘0 Bag’.
If you are travelling with your hand baggage and registered baggage, we would recommend you to choose option ‘1 Bag’ or ‘2 Bags’.

If you wish to check-in online just retrieve your reservation via the ‘Online check-in’ section of the website, choose one of the suggested options, fill in the required travel document information and print off your boarding passes on a individual A4 page. If you forget to check-in online you will be charged 140 LTL (41 EUR) at the Airport. Online check-in is available from 15 days prior up to 4 hours before the scheduled times of flight departure. Please note - Online check-in closes 4 hours prior to flight departure.

If you are travelling with your hand baggage only, you have checked-in online and you have your boarding pass you can go straight to the Aviation Security Check.
If you are travelling with your hand baggage and registered baggage, you have checked-in online and you have your boarding pass, you should submit your baggage at a Baggage Drop off point, then go to the Aviation Security Check. In this case we would recommend you to come to the airport 2 hours before the scheduled departure time.

If you have changed your mind and you would like to carry registered baggage, you are able to do so in two ways: online via the ‘Manage My Booking’ section of Ryanair website up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure or via  Ryanair ticket office at the Airport up to 40 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time. Checked baggage fees are charged per person/per one way flight. Discounted fees are available online.

If you wish to review your travel itinerary, to change the booking date, time, route or passenger’s name you should retrieve your reservation via the ‘Manage My Booking’ section of Ryanair website. If you do not wish all passengers in your booking to be changed, you must contact Ryanair ticket office by phone +370 37 750 195, +370 37 750 196 or e-mail: tix.kun@litcargus.lt.
